Living in Miami, I have never experienced a real "change of seasons." But, I do know a lot about dressing cute for the fall because that's the closest Miami gets to anything autumn related. I have always loved fall fashion, and when traveling during the fall and winter, having essentials is super important! So although I am no expert in the everyday living style during the colder seasons, I do have some great tips about essential fall clothing and how to incorporate it in your fall aesthetic.
1. Booties
Every girl needs a pair of booties, no if's, and's, or but's. Booties can take your outfit from 0-100 real quick, and you can pair them with just about anything. Not to mention, they're super comfortable and an overall necessary purchase for your fall and winter wardrobe.
2. Corduroy Pants or Jeans
I love corduroy pants. They are very flattering, and the material adds an extra "je ne sais quoi" (I don't know what). And jeans, everybody loves jeans. These pant styles are two basics that you absolutely need in your closet. Corduroy pants match more for the fall, but jeans are timeless clothing essentials that you can pair with literally anything for your specific look.
3. Staple Jacket
Staple jackets are a MUST in the fall. One of my favorite things about fall fashion is the variation of staple jackets worn in different outfits. There are so many styles to pick and choose from to complete your look. Fluffy, long, zippered, buttoned, black, white; it doesn't matter. Staple jackets are the perfect clothing piece to bring your outfit together and make it pop. You definitely need a least one in your fall collection, especially if you want your look to stand out.
4. Knitted Sweater
Knitted sweaters are my go-to's in the fall. There's nothing more "fall vibes" than a white or beige knitted sweater. The best thing about them is that they are so comfortable because they are light but still provide some warmth. You can pair a knitted sweater with jeans, leggings, shorts, skirts, or even buy an oversized one and wear it as a dress (sweater dresses are such a vibe)! Sweater weather is the best weather, no doubt about it.
5. Neutral Handbag
A good handbag is a necessity, no matter what season it is. Handbags are more than just an accessory because you use them a lot, so they should be of good quality while still matching most of your clothes. However, you need to have variety and switch it up depending on your outfit that day. Some people enjoy spending more money on a brand name purse and others not so much. I included some regular priced purses above to show the different styles I recommend for the fall season.
Extra
Glasses
Glasses aren't necessarily a fall clothing essential. BUT, they can elevate your look to a whole other level. Just by putting on a fashionable pair of sunglasses, you give yourself that model "edge" and "high-fashion" look. A pair of glasses can go a long way, and these are pretty cheap and get the job done. It's a win, win situation here.
